OH AMERICA

“Oh America do you hear me, America do you see me, America do you accept me?”

Oh America do you hear me, America do you see me, America do you accept me? America I ask you this today because I’m a young black man with many ideas and a plan. But because I don’t fit into the specific box that you have created from your hands. I may have to suffer with the delusion that I can create a life on your land. Oh America I wonder where my life will go I wonder if I will actually have the American dream or am I bound to live a life in a country which slowly diminish my soul? Maybe there’s a possibility that’s my soul can create opportunity. Or maybe just maybe the true reality is that a black man can never be authentic, blunt, and questions authority. Because if a black man was ever stupid enough to do that America will demolish him with counts of devastating scrutiny. Oh America do you hear me, do you see me, have you had enough change in your lifetime to accept me? Will I have a Destiney or will the country my body inhabits will unfortunately destroy all steps of the journey that lives within me.
